Thankfulness

Today is Thanksgiving so it's only fitting that I dedicate this post to the things I am most thankful for. So, in no particular order:

1) My Savior. As pathetic as my Christian walk has been the last few years He is still in the forefront of my thoughts and heart (but mainly my thoughts...like I said, pathetic, but at least it's something, right?). But really, I am so thankful that the Father chose me to be one of His own. I am so thankful that He does not see me the way I see me. Well, He "sees me" He just chooses to love me in spite of myself. Okay, this is getting way off. Anyway, I'm thankful that Jesus took my punishment on Himself. Father, I ask You for a brand new revelation of the Cross.

2) My husband. He really does honor our marriage vow/s and loves me in the good times and the bad times...good moods and bad moods! He should get some extra jewels in his crown just for being married to me. Just to name a few things about him: he is loving, sincere, hard-working, genuine, loyal, strong, protective, gentle, romantic, and has a heart after God.

3) My baby girls. Words can't describe how much I love my girls and yet, at the same time, I somehow feel like I don't love them enough. Does that make sense? It's been an amazing 2 1/2 years, watching these two little ones grow and become their own persons. I am blessed beyond measure that God has allowed me to guide these girls through life. Now if only I didn't make so many mistakes.

4) My family. I am so incredibly blessed to be able to call my mom and my sister my best friends in the whole world. I don't know what I would do if I did not have these two ladies in my life. What would I do without my mom's merciful spirit, her loving mother's (and grandmother's) heart, her compassion, her "benefit of the doubt" attitude towards almost everyone she encounters, and countless other qualities. What would I do without my sister's spiritual consistency, wisdom, strength, loyalty, and heart after God. She is truly someone I want to model my walk after. Oh, and I love my brother, dad and sister-in-law too!

5) My church family. I have been attending GNFWC for almost 20 years!!! Wow. I can even remember my first Sunday there...in the school, facing the side wall of the cafeteria. Anyway, I am so thankful that God placed me in a church that allows the Holy Spirit to have free reign. I'm thankful for the pastors that have been placed in my life.

That's about all I can think of at the moment! Happy (late) Thanksgiving!
