Rachel Lynn Arnold Edgar

"It's not how many years you have in your life but how much life you have in your years."

This past week we said good-bye to my friend Rachel. On Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at approximately 5:33pm Rachel (who had been fighting cancer for the last few years) took her last breath and went to be with Jesus. She was my childhood friend...definitely my oldest friend...and quite possibly my very FIRST friend, having met when we were about 3 or 4 years old. We were BEST friends for much of our adolescent years. We went to church together, we were homeschooled together (going on countless field and camping trips over the years) and while we went our separate ways after I went to public school we re-connected after high school and always kept in touch. She was at my wedding, came to visit me when Karis was born and we, along with other special friends, got together for playdates every so often. She was one of those friends that no matter how much time passed in between seeing eachother you could always pick up right where you left off, as if no time had passed at all. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She loved to serve the Lord and those around her. She was a true inspiration of faith and servitude, even though she never wanted any glory for any of it...she always passed it right over to the Lord, Her Savior. What a precious woman...daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend. She will be greatly missed but I, along with so many others, are looking forward to the day when we see her again!

‎2 Timothy 4:7,8 -- King James Version (KJV)
v. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
v. 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
